As a biological concept, an adult animal or human is one who has fully grown. If used in conjunction with humans, the term "adult" can have meanings that are connected to social or legal notions. Legal adults are those who has reached the age of maturity and can be considered independent, self sufficient as well as responsible. The term "major" can be used to describe these individuals. The general consensus is that the threshold at which an individual becomes a legal adult is 18. It is possible for this to vary depending on legal rights and countries as well as psychological development.

Human development is the time in which full physical and mental maturation has been reached. Adulthood, as typically understood, is at the age of either 20 or 21. It is around 60 years after middle the age of 60. The beginning of adulthood occurs between the years of between 18 and 30. The middle age stage begins from between the mid-30s and the 60s. The transition to late adulthood begins around the middle of 60s. Physical maturation has been completed when we enter our early adulthood years (20-40s) but height and weight might be a little higher. As we enter our early twenties, the physical capabilities of our bodies reach their maximum. They include strength of muscles and reaction time.
