Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the press. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. She gained some further recognition from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not for work or for a passion, but as an opportunity to grow. As a result, she started writing her own music. Her sources include noted writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love for Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she composed might not be famous for her, rather to help people to realize the value of themselves and their impact in our world at large, she started singing them in public. Piano was her first instrument, at six. She began writing music when she turned nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. The dream was never to become Aurora. Her only passion is to write music. She believes that music is the most effective method of feeling anything.
